Train the Mind Behind
Every Decision.
Neurofeedback training with Matthias Timmer, who works with soccer professional players at the highest level in Germany — helping players make faster, clearer decisions under pressure, and recover mentally after a mistake instead of dwelling on it.
Five Things That Actually Decide Games.
Neurofeedback is computer-based brain training — your own brain activity is shown back to you through visual and audio feedback, and over time the brain learns to regulate itself better. It’s painless and non-invasive; no electricity goes into the brain. For a soccer player, that self-regulation shows up in five specific places.
🎯 Focus & Concentration
Helps players stay focused across a full 90 minutes and tune out distractions from spectators or opponents.
⚡ Faster Reaction Times
Optimizes neural processing for split-second decisions — in a pass, a run, or a goalkeeper’s save.
🧘 Stress & Emotion Management
Reduces nervousness before important games and helps prevent frustration or emotional lapses after a mistake.
😴 Better Sleep & Recovery
Promotes deeper relaxation, which speeds up physical and mental recovery after hard matches.
🌊 Flow State
Makes it easier to switch into “the zone” on demand — the state where everything just clicks.
Three Steps, Every Session.
EEG Measurement
Sensors on the scalp read the player’s brainwaves — for example, alpha and beta waves.
Real-Time Feedback
The player controls visual or audio feedback — a video game or a tone — using nothing but their own brain activity.
Conditioning
Through positive signals, the brain learns to lock in optimal performance and relaxation patterns over time.

Want More Than One Session?
Our Soccer Gap Year in Hamburg is a full school year in Germany — German league eligibility, a real host family, and daily training alongside programs like this one. Neurofeedback fits naturally into a full year of development, not just a single trip.
He Did This Program. Then Made D1.
Jonas Dieseler
Goalkeeper, NCAA Division I SoccerJonas trained with Matthias Timmer’s neurofeedback program — the same one offered here — as part of his development. He came up through the academy systems at Fortuna Düsseldorf and FC Mönchengladbach in Germany before going on to play NCAA Division I soccer in the US at Saint Francis University, a Northeast Conference program. His coaches there praised him as excelling at some of the highest levels of German youth soccer, with a commanding presence in goal.
