● 11 Months · Full Year ● German High School ● German League Eligible ● Host Family or Boarding House
This Isn’t Study Abroad.
This Is Your Season.
Designed for dedicated international high school players, the Full School Year program places you inside the German football system — not as a visitor, but as a registered club player. You attend a German school, live with a host family or in the boarding house, and compete in the German league alongside players your age.
No other program offers this level of German league eligibility. This is the complete player development pathway — soccer, education, independence, and cultural immersion in one year abroad.
This Is What a Real Soccer Gap Year Looks Like.
A soccer gap year only works if the year itself is real — not a shortened camp dressed up as a season abroad. This program is built for players taking a genuine soccer gap year: 11 months, one club, one school, one city. Enough time to actually adapt, actually improve, and actually be judged by what you can do over a full season rather than a two-week trial.
Most players considering a soccer gap year are choosing between finishing high school a different way, taking a deliberate pause before college, or simply deciding that one more year of serious development matters more right now than anything else. Whichever reason brought you here, this program gives that year structure: registered club soccer, real school, real housing, and a full German season to show what you can do.
From Abuja to Hamburg.
Two families, one shared path into the German game — proof that the Full School Year program isn’t theoretical. It’s already happening.
One recommendation. Two players in Hamburg. Chibby’s family introduced Davet’s — now both boys are training in the same city, at the same club, in the same school. This is what the Full School Year program actually looks like for the families who choose it.
Training. School. Housing. Everything.

Train the Body. Train the Brain.
While you’re in Germany, you can also train with Matthias Timmer — a neurofeedback specialist who works with professional soccer players at the highest level in Germany. It’s computer-based brain training that helps with the split-second decisions on the field and bouncing back mentally after a mistake, available in Berlin as an add-on to your time abroad.
Focus, faster reaction times, stress management, better recovery, and reaching a flow state on demand — the same program a real player used on his own way to NCAA Division I soccer in the US.
The Same School.
The Same Neighbourhood.
Jonathan Tah — current centreback of the German national team, now at Bayern Munich — grew up in Hamburg and played for HSV. He attended the Heidberg school in north Hamburg, just 5 miles from Duvenstedt. After her studies, Marion Dieseler started working at the same school.
School year players train and study in the exact environment that shaped one of Europe’s finest defenders. Same streets. Same school. Same football culture.
